Message From President

There is a special analogy between special needs individuals and blooming flowers. When flowers still exist as buds, spectators are unable to witness the hidden treasure inside the bud. Judging by the demeanor, people instantly form their own judgements from their impressions. Just like flowers that have yet to bloom, people with special needs do not initially exemplify their inner treasures. For most individuals, their innocence and kindness has been masked by their fear of coming into contact with the outside world. That’s why we created a mascot holding a blue flower bud, so as to illustrate how our project seeks to help the world understand how to admire these special needs individuals and guide them towards blooming through our care for them. Our logo depicts a flower that has already bloomed, because the pair of hands beneath it has provided the support to help the flower (in this case, the individual) to open up and reveal the inner treasures, as illustrated by the three stars. Huge thank you to Danielle Heo for incorporating the essence of my ideas into the design!

Meet the Leadership Team

Jenny Chin

President & Founder

Hi everyone! My name is Jenny, and I'm currently a senior at Monta Vista High School. I'm extremely thrilled to be leading SNAP, and I really hope that I can help more of my peers understand people with special needs! I got my initial inspiration of starting this club after volunteering at FCSN, an autistic education learning center, where I tutored and closely interacted with many autistic teens. Outside of school, I enjoy participating in science olympiad competitions, indulging in yogurt (I fancy Noosa quite a lot), reading, and traveling to different countries!
